Milani moisture lock oil infused lip treatment | review

I’m big into lip products, and the Milani moisture lock oil infused lip treatment – though a mouthful to say – just sounds deliciously good, doesn’t it? This is actually the first Milani product I’ve tried from wonder store Beauty Base, in the ‘rejuvenating peach mango’ option, and I’ve already gone back to restock in other flavours. Spoiler alert! It’s that good. Read on to find out more, and why it will improve your foundation game…

Regulars to my blog, or Instagram page will know I’m a huge liquid lipstick fan, but as hydrating a formula you may be blessed to find, they’re going to dry your lips out at some point, so think of your balms and treatments to liquid lipsticks, like ketchup is to chips… kinda. You know what I’m getting at, right? So, the Milani moisture lock treatment comes in eight choices, all infused with a different oil, for a different purpose. If you’re like me though, you’ll go for the one that sounds the tastiest, and there’s plenty to choose from!

  • Moisturizing Almond Coco (coconut oil)
  • Healing Lemon Honey (lemon oil)
  • Rejuvenating Peach Mango (peach Seed oil)
  • Conditioning Grapeseed (grapeseed oil)
  • Repairing Primrose (rosehip oil)
  • Revitalizing Grapefruit (grapefruit oil)
  • Protecting Pomegranate (pomegranate oil)
  • Nourishing Raspberry (raspberry oil)

I tried peach mango, which I found to be fresh, and not too sickly. Lovers of the Too Faced sweet peach palette, will like this, as it’s similar in scent, and not too overbearing. So what’s so special about this formula? Packed with Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil, as well as peach seed oil, the application is satisfyingly thick. The wand, oh the wand! It’s ginormous! I was a little concerned it might be too much after reading cosmetic queen, Isabella Muse’s review here, but this velvety soft doe foot wand is an absolute delight to use, though I do agree with the Muse herself, it does mean you’re a little cheated out of product, as the wand takes up half the bottle.

So, how will it up your foundation game? When I’ve applied my foundation, I usually use a cotton bud to wipe off product from my lips, making sure I’m not sporting an unwanted 90s pale lip, but since I’ve had this lip treatment, there’s no need. Scrub it over your pale lips, enjoying the teddy-soft wand, and see how your flaky lips are resurrected from their foundation blanket – all the while becoming soft and supple, the perfect base for your liquid lipstick. It’s not ground-breaking, but it’s a tiny hack that I’ve been enjoying each day at my dressing table. Another pleasing aspect of this product, is that it’s pretty much exactly the same size as my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, meaning it sits beautifully in my acrylic holder!
